About

The Ideal Bartender Collective

We are a collective focusing our energy on the empowermnet and education of BIPOC within the Beverage Industry. Through direct mentorship and utilization of our extensive network, 'The Ideal Bartender Collective' fosters cultural ownership, radical self care and the upward mobility of BIPOC. IBC intends to create an immersive and inclusive platform that paints a more dimensional picture of Wine and Spirits. The people who have suffered the oppression that gave birth to these wonderful drinks should be the authors and storytellers of that history.

THE TIME IS NOW

White supremacy, Patriarchy and Classism in the Spirits Industry have allowed a white-washing of its history, limiting knowledge and reframing education through the white gaze. The lack of diversity within beverage education needs to be addressed in order to facilitate a more diverse, inclusive, and culturally fluent industry. THE TIME IS NOW.

Sugar and Spiced

Sugar and Spiced Trip Incentive will take mentees who have flourished during IBC on a Food and Beverage centered tour of the Caribbean, encouraging cultural ownership and an interrogation of history within the Rum category amongst future Bartenders, Importers and Producers. Focusing on cultural immersion, wellness and historical discovery, this trip will be a reconnection of the Diaspora.
